Well, we’re into some crisp fall weather! The leaves have turned in brilliant fashion this year, and this autumn, to me anyhow, has seemed more “New England” than ever! It is times like these that I become filled with the spirit of history and I spend a little more time sitting in our historic church looking at historic items. I sit on the steps and think of all those who came before and walked the steps into the meetinghouse in the chill of the autumn breeze. The timbers reflect the voice differently, I feel. There is a different energy in the church. Perhaps it’s because we are into our new 2024/25 church year and so many have returned to church. Perhaps it is because the sound of many children is once again ringing in the pews and downstairs. Perhaps it’s just a little bit of the Spirit bringing us some love!
Whatever it is, I love it. It has prompted some new projects in history, as well as furthering some others! On November 10th during service, I will dedicate a new recognition plaque, and some important history will be available in the hallway for all to view! I can’t give it away, of course, but you know it’ll be good!
Also in November, the return of History Fridays will be a thing as I am collecting all manner of new photos and items of interest. If you’ve seen, I now have a desk in the offices (music room/CE office) and am getting settled in there. Thank you for your patience while I’ve been setting all of that up and getting ready to dig back in! If you find anything or have questions, send an email or plop it on my desk.
That’s all from me…have a wonderful November and Happy Thankgsiving!
I’m History!
